Approach to Learning

As mission-driven educator focused on instructional design, professional learning, and curriculum implementation. I want to work with teams that intentionally discuss learners' needs and lived experiences and are not afraid to reflect critically.

I am passionate about learning and how people learn. I often joke that I would find joy in teaching someone how to paint a wall and then evaluate how I could do it better the second time.

Background and Skills

Instructional Process: Experience using both ADDIE and SAM instructional design models. I have led teams and projects with various professional and cultural backgrounds.

Technology: I have created materials using Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Microsoft suite, and a variety of editing software. As a learner first, I am also constantly evolving my skills.

Subject Matter Background: I was initially a STEM educator with experience teaching and developing curricula for science, math, and robotics classes. I taught ELLs and have intermediate-level Spanish fluency.

Portfolio: This website shows examples of my work in Adult Learning, Professional Development, and K-12 instruction.

Where do I work? Texas is my home base, but I am open to projects worldwide as a primarily remote worker.

Why do we need intentional Instructional Design?

Instructional design provides structure and intentional planning to your educational needs. Industries ranging from the medical field to financial planning are using instructional designers to dissect problems holistically and create instructional solutions that consider all aspects of the learning.
